Hurray, Primeval roars back into the telly. After last year’s cancellation I never thought I’d see it back, but I’m pleased it is, even if it is a tad slow (, stop looking at a spiney-saurus and just run into the portal you fools!) New comers Ciarán McMenamin has an interesting detachment about him, and who is the plant man? Ben Miller’s return is also welcome and Alexander Siddig is always very watchable. It’s early days yet to see what the new shake up of cast will do to the show, and the new ARC looks a little bit like a converted hair salon. If there is a weak it’s Andrew Lee Pott’s who still needs to up his game in the acting stakes. There, I said it. All in all though a good first ep for series 4
For Christmas a got “Dougal & the Blue Cat”. I’d wanted it for ages, but not got round to buying it meself, and it’s a joy. If you ever had an affection for The Magic Roundabout, or if you watched the rubbish cgi version a few years back, I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll not spoil it suffice to say an evil blue cat turns up in the magic garden with a yorkshire accent and megalomanic tendencies. Joy.
